Paionios

Marble statue of Nike (height 1.95m) by Paionios, about 420 BC. Olympia Museum 46-8.Sculptor working in the second half of the 5th century BC, from Mende in northern Greece. He made a statue of Nike (Victory), which once stood on a high triangular column outside the Temple of Zeus at Olympia. He also made this temple's akroteria.
