  • CAVI Comments: = 3089. The same subject on London 1898.7-16.5, not inscribed. Matheson: Beazley and others declared the inscriptions to be mistaken and the scene to be of Heracles and Eurytion, with the daughter of king Dexamenos. Vollkommer however accepts the inscriptions, citing parallels for the name Dexamenos and for Oineus as the father of Deianeira. [But there is a good deal of confusion in the sources about the names in the Eurytion story.]
