Part-time Research Assistant
Faculty of Classics (Classical Art Research Centre), Ioannou Centre for Classical and Byzantine Studies, 66 St Giles’, Oxford
Grade 6.1 – 6.7 : £29,175 - £34,804 pro rata per annum
The Classical Art Research Centre is seeking a highly motivated and talented pre-doctoral or post-doctoral researcher to work on the Beazley Archive Pottery Database (BAPD) - the foremost online resource for the study of ancient Athenian painted pottery. The post is part-time (equivalent of one day a week) and fixed-term (2 years).
The post-holder will have a key role in helping to expand and enhance the BAPD, sourcing and adding new data and images, creating new records, and helping to keep records up-to-date and relevant, e.g. by adding to their image-bibliographies.
The successful candidate will have appropriate specialist knowledge and research experience, and a high level of self-motivation so as to work efficiently and independently. S/he will have strong IT skills and very high standards of accuracy.
This is a fixed-term post for 24 months from December 2019.
