New Gandharan Art Bibliography (GAB) launched
The Classical Art Research Centre's Gandhara Connections project has launched a new Gandharan Art Bibliography (GAB) on these pages. Over the three years of the project we will be developing the GAB into a comprehensive bibliography of Gandharan art and closely related material. The current version is a work in progress. It now has more than 260 items, many of them with links to websites where the publications can be consulted online for free. The bibliography can be downloaded selectively or in its entirety using the check-boxes. Downloads are in RefMan (RIS) format, which is compatible with Endnote and other bibliographic software packages.
The GAB will grow week by week. We will soon be adding a form that will enable users to suggest additions. We welcome feedback in the meantime (carc@classics.ox.ac.uk), though please be patient with us! We are aware that there is much material to be added, as well as small improvements to be made to the information displayed.
We are grateful for the information received from colleagues as well as existing resources that have helped with the work of compilation, especially Prof Markus Mode's online Gandhara Bibliography; Henri Deydier, Contribution à l'étude de l'art du Gandhara (Paris, 1950); and Pierre Guenée, Bibliographie analytique des ouvrages parus sur l'art du Gandhara entre 1950 et 1993 (Paris, 1998).
