  • CAVI Comments: The inscription Adonis (as well as the other inscriptions) were discovered by Wehgartner. Beazley had suggested Phaon, others a girl or Adonis. For Eunomia and Eukleia, see Hampe (1955), 107ff.; LIMC, s. vv. Less reliable is D. Metzler, `Eunomia und Aphrodite,' Hephaistos 2 (1980) 73ff. W. gives a list of six occurrences of Eukleia on Attic vases. Ionic alphabet.
